It was a long, tense year beginning with the battle at Lexington and Concord and the skirmishes of Battle Road. Beginning on April 19th, the gathered militias from towns and cities across the New England region gathered and under local leadership began to fortify from Charlestown Neck to Roxbury, sealing Britain’s regiments under General Gage in the City of Boston.
